It's Important to Remember

Source
Even the Suffering Church (Eastern Church) succumbed to persecutory zeal:

THE following extract from the Ecclesiastical Gazette of Vienna has been reproduced in an Extraordinary Supplement of the Allgemeine Zeitung, of Augsburg, for the 11th May 1854. I subjoin a translation of it in a postscript, as an additional evidence of the persecution to which the Greek Church united with Rome has been subjected in Russia, and which I mentioned in this work: — “Spies appointed for this especial purpose transmitted, in their reports to the Government, lists of such individuals as were suspected to be Catholics at heart; and if all the exaggerated accounts which had been made of the Spanish Inquisition were true, they would be thrown into the shade by the proceedings that were adopted against the above-mentioned individuals. And indeed it is an averred fact, that many of them fell a victim to starvation, blows, and other cruel treatment. The Catholic inhabitants of Worodzkow were forced with stripes, by the Governor and his satellites, to sign a voluntary petition, expressing their ardent wish to be received into the pale of the orthodox Russian Church. The names of those who could not write were signed by others, and whoever showed the slightest manifestation of his desire to remain a Catholic, after having performed this voluntary act, was treated as one guilty of high treason. The same proceedings as at Worodzkow were adopted in a hundred other places, whose vohmtary petitions were obtained with bloody stripes of the knout. The unfortunate petitioners were, in order to perform this operation, dragged from their homes, sometimes to a distance of or 20 versts (1 1/2 verst to an English mile), and those who steadfastly refused to sign were treated by the Russian papas with the utmost cruelty and indignity. They were put into irons, barred up in cold prisons without any fire, starved, thrown into large tubs filled with an icy and stinking water, and most mercilessly beaten, so that many, in order to escape from such torments, signed the voluntary petition, with hearts as bleeding as their bodies, Many succumbed under these fearful persecutions, which were not much inferior to that which the Christians had suffered under the reign of Diocletian. The Papa Stratanovich extorted the signatures made by the feverishly agitated hands of the clerical victims, whilst his lay associate, Waimainich Zokalinski, performed the same charitable office to other unfortunate individuals. Some of these miserable persons were reduced by starvation and every kind of ill-treatment to such a condition, that they were almost unconscious of what they did in signing the voluntary petitions for the reception into the pale of the Russian Church, all of which were obtained by more or less similar means. “It appears from a great mass of documentary evidence, containing the names of localities and persons, that the proselytism of was carried out in the following manner: — Military authorities, and Russian papas or priests, visited Catholic villages, and having called together the Catholic peasantry and landowners of the neighborhood, declared that they must join the Russian Church, throwing into prison those who resisted the summons. In the most part of cases, a petition for this object was signed by some hired wretches in the name of all the community, of whom many often knew nothing about this business, but when they behaved as Catholics, they were punished as guilty of high treason.”

A Christian Case for Relics

Calvin (and others') arguments against relics were based on the horse-laugh - count up all the splinters of the Cross, and you get - much more than a Cross. Calvin's argument is that "it is a very rare thing" to be able to exercise dulia (adoration) without giving way to latria (God-worship). While we grant that this is the case, we maintain that it is also a very rare thing for someone to avoid God-worship directed at some materiality in any case, even if properly instructed (presumably, in a Reformed Church). We may further claim that it might be less rare, if church members received instruction in an initiate, wise, and regulated manner concerning proper forms of Christian worship towards things which are "not-God"; this would include one's spouse ("with my body, I thee worship"), the emperor (Love God, Honor the king), & other instances from Scripture expressly derived. So, the maximal case for keeping worship of God "pure" would involve measured instruction in latria/dulia (of a different kind than that exercised by the Roman Church during its heyday), rather than no instruction at all, or a forbidding of it. For instance, what Southern Baptist is not "religious" about his particular copy of the Bible, possibly "in the family"? What Presbyterian is so Reformed that he would consent to voluntarily desecrate an image of John Calvin by throwing it on a junk heap, albeit hung in a poorly painted frame? A bigger problem is the wearing of titles and taking of names - many nominally Protestant people would be far better off in a more Catholic Church, because they receive their religion with their ethnicity and family, or simply (worse) because this Church is "nice" and has a coffee-house attached to the Mega-facility. As Millinerd states it, what is worse than losing the knowledge of God in a gilded temple? Losing the knowledge of God in an old-drive through that was re-modeled to be an apostolic "temple". At least with relics, architecture, and icons, there is a record of the glory that was lost. It is not just a "pick your poison" dilemma - men definitely (when zealous or serious, something which is unavoidable if Christianity means anything) practice latria and dulia as a matter of course, and teaching them to only give it to God doesn't seem to prevent insidious forms of it from developing. So the real question is, which is worse? Open confusion that is marked (over-venerating an icon) or subtle confusion which one isn't aware of (eg., thinking the SBC has a monopoly on the truth because of its pedigree, arguably a form of latria)? I think I know which is "worse".

Here is the Catholic tradition:

"… the mystic potency emanating from the person or thing that is sacred. These words have in themselves no ethical meaning and no humane implications whatever. They are the keywords of a religious technique and their content is wholly supernatural. In a practical way the second word [virtus] is the more important. It describes the uncanny, mysterious power emanating from the supernatural and affecting the natural. The manifestation of this power may be thought of as a contact between the natural and the supernatural in which the former, being an inferior reality, of course yielded. These points of contact and yielding are the miracles we continually hear of. The quality of sacredness and the mystic potency belong to spirits, in varying degrees to the faithful, and to inanimate objects. They are possessed by spirits, acquired by the faithful, and transmitted to objects..."

How is this any different than the pronounced supernaturalism of the Old Testament?

Philosophers Chasing Ghosts

The first recorded Ghost Story was written by Pliny the Younger from Rome. Pliny the Younger (c.61 AD - c.112 AD) was a Roman official and writer, famous for his letters which are an important source for Roman history. The story was written in a letter from Pliny to his friend, Sura. Here is a portion of the letter:

“There was at Athens a mansion, spacious and commodious, but of evil repute and dangerous to health. In the dead of night there was a noise as of iron, and, if you listened more closely, a clanking of chains was heard, first of all from a distance, and afterwards hard by. Presently a specter used to appear, an ancient man sinking with emaciation and squalor, with a long beard and bristly hair, wearing shackles on his legs and fetters on his hands, and shaking them. Hence the inmates, by reason of their fears, passed miserable and horrible nights in sleeplessness. This want of sleep was followed by disease, and, their terrors increasing, by death. For in the daytime as well, though the apparition had departed, yet a reminiscence of it flitted before their eyes, and their dread outlived its cause. The mansion was accordingly deserted and, condemned to solitude, was entirely abandoned to the dreadful ghost. However, it was advertised, on the chance of some one, ignorant of the fearful curse attached to it, being willing to buy or to rent it. Athenodorus the philosopher came to Athens and read the advertisement. When he had been informed of the terms, which were so low as to appear suspicious, he made inquiries, and learned the whole of the particulars. Yet none the less on that account, nay, all the more readily, did he rent the house. As evening began to draw on, he ordered a sofa to be set for himself in the front part of the house, and called for his notebooks, writing implements, and a light. All his servants he dismissed to the interior apartments, and for himself applied his soul, eyes, and hand to composition, that his mind might not, from want of occupation, picture to itself the phantoms of which he had heard, or any empty terrors. At the commencement there was the universal silence of night. Soon the shaking of irons and the clanking of chains was heard, yet he never raised his eyes nor slackened his pen, but hardened his soul and deadened his ears by its help. The noise grew and approached: now it seemed to be heard at the door, and next inside the door. He looked round, beheld and recognized the figure he had been told of. It was standing and signaling to him with its finger, as though inviting him. He, in reply, made a sign with his hand that it should wait a moment, and applied himself afresh to his tablets and pen. Upon this the figure kept rattling its chains over his head as he wrote. On looking round again, he saw it making the same signal as before, and without delay took up a light and followed it. It moved with a slow step as though oppressed by its chains, and after turning into the courtyard of the house vanished suddenly and left his company.”

What does it mean to be "Tented"?

Alienists, such as Brian Schwertly, being neo-Docetists, deny the Regeneration, or Paliggenesia, of Christ by their derogation of materiality. When Paul writes of the creation “groaning together in the pains of childbirth”, this birth is not a birth of pure spirit, but a birth of the renewed creation in which is the entelechy of the perfect confluence and unity of spirit and flesh. Thus Paul relates in 2 Corinthians that this renwal is not so that we might be “unclothed” (pure spirit) but that what is mortal (flesh) may be swallowed up in life (made imperishable, unlike cursed, mortal flesh). Flesh is particularistic, and this particularism is what Kinists celebrate. If flesh possesses no quiddity, then there is no necessity for each thing to have its own “tent,” as it were. The differentiation of the flesh corresponds to that of the spirit. We know that men are saved as differentiated spirits, since God has elected to save many men, and the “you” that God knew before the formation of your “tent” is also a quiddity, or the salvation of a plurality of men is wasted energy, imperfection, and is the equivalent of God denying his own divinity.

“For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdened—not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.” 2 Corinthians 5:4

The Force of Truth

A little known Christian writer (who was probably a "heretic" in that he seems to have believed that mere acceptance of the Jesus narrative conveyed saving faith) named Hervey had a large influence on evangelical spirituality & also English literature (Blake & Walpole) . His book Theron & Apasio (a dialogue between a witty cultured non-believer & a Christian) was instrumental in helping convert Thomas Scott (to be fair, so were a lot of other books named in Scott's autobiography, The Force of Truth). An online edition is here. An interesting blog entry on the man here. I've always been attracted by Scott's fidelity to Truth (read his autobiography when very young), and Hervey's aesthetic Christianity makes an interesting complement to Scott's work. The lesson here? Attempt hard things for God. Attempt crazy things for God. Always seek God.

Strange Folk Practices

I suppose this is why Charles Williams in his War in Heaven makes one of the villains a "Macedonian". The combination of Christian practice with folk religions seems similar to what occurred in Mexico, or in Europe, for example with the Black Virgin. Certainly man is a very complex, mysterious being, and there are "more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in our philosophy". Where that leaves the Christian is a good question.

Prophecies of Russia

Aristokles, a Staret in Russia
"An evil will soon conquer Russia, where it goes bad rivers of blood will flow. This is not the soul of Russia, but an opposite. It is not an ideology or philosophy, but a spirit from hell. In recent days, Germany will be divided. France will be nothing. Italy will suffer from natural disasters. Britain will lose the Empire and all its colonies, and reach almost to total destruction, but saved by the prayers of enthroned women. The U.S. will feed the world but in the end will collapse. Russia and China will destroy each other. Eventually, Russia will be free and the faithful will go ahead and turn many of the nations to God."

"Now we pass the time before Antichrist. But Russia will ultimately be saved. There will be a great misery and suffering of many tortures. All Russia will become a prison, and each will strongly beg the Lord for forgiveness. Each one will have to repent of their sins and to tremble to do even the slightest sin, but must strive to do good, even the smallest. Because even the wing of a fly has weight, and the scales of God are accurate. And when even the smallest good container tilts the scales, then God will reveal His mercy to Russia."

"The end will come from China. There will be a tremendous outburst and a miracle from God will be revealed. And then there will be a completely different life, but this will not last long."

"God will remove all the leaders, so the Russians can look only to Him. Everyone will turn away from Russia, others will leave, leaving it to itself, so that Russians would only expect help from the Lord. You will hear in other states that have started riots similar to those in Russia. We hear about war, and there will be wars. But wait until the Germans take up arms because they have been elected as the weapon of God to punish Russia, but also as a weapon later to release. The Cross of Christ will shine throughout the world and our country will be glorified and become like a beacon in the darkness of all. "

Germanity & Slavs Again

The Salisbury Review has a short, interesting piece by Mark Griffiths which argues that Germany is moving towards conservative liberalism. This is a trend I see as well - Germany & Russia are becoming better places to live, we are getting worse. I am reminded of the poem Bad Bear, Good Bear, by Milne (I think).

Music

In the absence of initiatory tradition, otherwise known as that great gaping hole in the heart of the West, we live in the Kali Yuga, or the End Times. During this time, mother and daughter shall be parted, and a man's enemies are of his own household. One shall be taken, the other left. This is the mystery of the iniquity that is being accomplished all around us, and I watch it very sadly. Krishmanurti taught that one must initiate one's self. How is this done? When the Good is invisible, and has no deep materiality, no Body, then one must listen. Music sings to us of what we cannot see, what once was, and will be. There is a higher music, one that tunes the heaven of heavens, and all the lesser spheres below us, still. Why is man cut off? The answer lies in himself, and in himself alone he must seek it. Perhaps those are called, and will be initiate, who can see with their eyes shut, who can still hear. As long as we hear it, the Good cannot die.

When the pupil is ready, the master will appear.

Albion must awaken.

Intellectual Conservatism

An outstanding short, interview-portrait of the irascible Roger Scruton. Among other things, the article presents Scruton's efforts to "square the circle" and live the life of an intellectual conservative; instead, Scruton gives us a portrait of someone who has found something more important in life (and messed up his own a little along the way), but who is nevertheless reflective upon what it means, not only for himself, but also "the Left" and British society in general. You can think of him as the Burkean counterpart to the old brilliant liberal, Bernard Williams.

Cultural Marxism & Evola

"Important forms of cultural Marxism are the collectivization of life and sensibility, mechanization and finally the unleashing of elementary forces. There in certain of its aspect, these tendencies lead to an anarchist liberation of the Self and subjectivity, in other of its forms we see a veritable destruction of the human element, of the feeling of all that is individual and tied to its own proper quality. In a certain measure, it is about the repercussions of an environment in which technique has determined, close to a fatal premise of standardization and leveling, the principle forms of life, sensibility, and taste."

Of Whom the Earth Was not Worthy

"From Jerusalem, the holy city,
Flying came a swift grey bird, a falcon,
And he carried in his beak a swallow.

But behold and see! 'Tis not a falcon,
'Tis the holy man of God, Elias,
And he does not bear with him a swallow,
But a letter from God's Holy Mother.
Lo, he bears the letter to Kosovo,
Drops it on the Tsar's knees from the heavens,
And thus speaks the letter to the monarch:
"Tsar Lazar, thou Prince of noble lineage,
What wilt thou now choose to be thy kingdom?
Say, dost thou desire a Heavenly kingdom,
Or dost thou prefer an earthly kingdom?
If thou should now choose an earthly kingdom,
Knights may girdle swords and saddle horses,
Tighten saddle-girths and ride to battle-
You will charge the Turks and crush their army!

But if thou prefer a Heavenly kingdom,
Build thyself a church upon Kosovo,
Let not the foundations be of marble,
Let them be of silk and of scarlet....
And to all thy warriors and their leaders
Thou shalt give the Sacraments and orders,
For thine army shall most surely perish,
And thou too, shalt perish with thine army."

When the Tsar had read the holy letter,
Pondered he, and pondered in this manner:
"Mighty God, what now shall this my choice be!
Shall I choose to have a Hevenly kingdom?
Shall I choose to have an earthly kingdom?
If I now should choose an earthly kingdom,
Lo, an earthly kingdom is but fleeting,
But God's Kingdom shall endure for ever."

And Lazar chose Heaven."...

Heavenly Serbia & Media Lies

In a blog dedicated to revisting old ideas, it is important to revisit "Heavenly Serbia". The author does not deny (he has no reason to need to, regardless of the truth or not), that atrocities were committed by Serbia during the recent war against Islam & other elements. However, here are some interesting links below which show how our media engages in a selective silence on certain issues. Graphic pictures contained.

1. Serbian casualities
2. Please define Genocide
3. Very graphic pictures of Islamic victims
4. Churches aren't safe either

This doesn't demonstrate that there are "always two sides" (always a favorite in the relativistic West). They demonstrate that war is terrible, that man is in grave danger, & that our Media is sytematically lying to us.

One has to ask, who is doing the lying, and why? Is this just happenstance? How is it always that Russia and the Serbs end up as the "ultimate bad guys", with lots of movies being made portraying them as such?

When were we ever told about how much danger Serbs were in?

Welcome to the New Boss, Same as the Old Boss

"The dishonest “radicals” saw the commune s a threat. Many Russian populists (narodniks), such as Alexander Herzen, believed the communal system to be the means whereby a native Russian socialism would challenge the western, Marxism brand. However, for these liberals, the communal structure was to be completely denuded of traditional culture and be largely a dependency of the New State. All that the socialists wanted had already been part of peasant life for a millennium, but the socialists simply lied as to what they wanted. They sought a non-Christian, secular state run by urban elites who treated communes as departments of state. Ultimately, this is largely the reason the Bolsheviks liquidated large segments of the peasantry. Comparisons of the peasant communal system and modern socialism are pedestrian, they have nothing in common. This is why the Russian New Men of the 20th century ultimately destroyed the commune while publicly professing devotion to it. The commune was a Christian anarchist collective, based around ethnic tradition, the church and the extended family, all interacting on the level of basic equality. Anarchists sounded ridiculous to the peasantry largely because their secular ideas, to be imposed by force, already existed, and where the virtues of charity and mutual self-government not only existed, but were part of the traditional mindset of the peasantry. The bizarre nature of Russian Masonic “radicalism” was that they were advocating what already existed. The catch was, however, that their new society was to be run by them, on secular and materialist principles with the state, of course, being all -powerful. Peasants then would be truly goyim, mere chattel, at the service of the New Men." - Matthew Raphael Johnson

Truth is Pathless

"I maintain that truth is a pathless land, and you cannot approach it by any path whatsoever, by any religion, by any sect. That is my point of view, and I adhere to that absolutely and unconditionally. Truth, being limitless, unconditioned, unapproachable by any path whatsoever, cannot be organized; nor should any organization be formed to lead or coerce people along a particular path. ... This is no magnificent deed, because I do not want followers, and I mean this. The moment you follow someone you cease to follow Truth. I am not concerned whether you pay attention to what I say or not. I want to do a certain thing in the world and I am going to do it with unwavering concentration. I am concerning myself with only one essential thing: to set man free. I desire to free him from all cages, from all fears, and not to found religions, new sects, nor to establish new theories and new philosophies..." - Krishmanurti, dissolving the Order of the Star

The Orbiting Genius of the Moon

Another striking feature of Kingsford and Maitland’s scheme is that it posits that: ‘Every human spirit-soul has attached to him a genius or daimon, as with Socrates; a ministering spirit, as with the apostles; or an angel, as with Jesus’; she favours the term genius, though her own genius, who resembled Dante, preferred ‘minister’, but discounted ‘the term angel because it is misinterpreted’. She explains that, ‘The genius is linked to his client by a bond of soul-substance’ (CWTS 58) and ‘is the moon to the planet man, reflecting to him the sun, or God, within him’ (CWTS 61), thereby lighting up ‘the dark places of his planet’ (CWTS 60). His light is trustworthy, since it is reflected from God, but his actual knowledge is limited, since the ‘genius knows well only the things relating to the person to whom he ministers. About other things he has opinions only’ (CWTS 61). On a personal level, the ‘genius of each one knows about another person only so much as that other’s genius chooses to reveal’ which indicates that the genius’s knowledge is available either from its charge or from other genii, but not from the phenomenal world in general (CWTS 61). Such descriptions show clearly that, although angelic in certain senses, Kingsford’s genius is bound more to his human counterpart than any higher realm, and is in his own way as restricted as his human planet. The goal of the human in this system is to unite the divine spirit with the soul, and to recover the soul’s memory, through ‘a three-fold operation,-that of the soul herself, of the moon, and of the sun’, and this is finally achieved in ‘what, mystically, is called the ‘marriage of the hierophant’’, at which stage ‘the office of the genius is ended’

WB Yeats was apparently mixed up in this.

When I Exist

When I exist...

A True Imperialism, a Higher Race

Original Translation of Unpublished (in English) Source, compliments of Gornahoor

"There are other neo-pagan misunderstandings in regard to political matters. Paganism is often made the synonym for the exclusive sovereignty of a simply temporal power. Things were the exact opposite, as we emphasized, in the ancient states: where the synthesis of the two powers did not mean statolatry, but on the contrary, a basis for spiritualizing politics itself, whereas in the new paganism, the only result, along the same lines as gallicanism, would be that of the politicization of spirituality and even religion. The fundamental need of the renewal movements of today is totally inverted, understood as assuming a spiritual vision of the world as its basis.

What should we think of certain circles – such as that of the noted general Ludendorff, and his wife, being truly responsible for similar aberrations – that consider Judaism, Romanity, the Church, Freemasonry, communism all one, because their premise is different from that of the nation-race? The nation-race, equally, threatens to lead us in the dark in which all the cows are black and no distinction is any longer possible. Thus they lost every feeling for the Aryan hierarchy of values and for not knowing how to go beyond the paralyzing antitheses constituted by a destructive internationalism and a particularistic nationalism, while the traditional conception of the Empire, or Reich, stands beyond both the one and the other: it is connected to the idea of a “super-race”, capable of creating and directing a higher hierarchical unity, in which the particular unities, ethnically and nationally defined, are not dissipated in their specific characterstics and in their relative autonomy, but lead to participation at a higher spiritual level. After all, making similar false turns, those circles, which are only German, went as far as to spread the accusation against the better aspects of their earlier traditions, considering Charlemagne, the Hohenstaufens, and the Habsburgs, in their “Romanity”, little less than traitors to the race-nation. Naturally, the force of circumstances and the new European development of Germany are responsible for getting rid of such eccentricities.

As for what finally concerns the nuances of “tragic heroism” and of the “love of fate”, that some among these paganizing circles would want to claim as characteristics of the Nordic vision of the world, it does not at all truly correspond to the original Nordic-Aryan spirituality, but it is only a reflection (it was altered aesthetically to be unrecognizable) of the twilight phase, of the collapse, of one of the races of Hyperborean origin. And this is the true meaning of the Ragnarok, a term of Nordic mythology, translated romantically as the “twilight of the gods”, but meaning rather the “obscuring of the divine”, alluding to the end of a cycle. Far from being about something that can give the tone to a vision of the world, here it is about a simple episode resumed in a somewhat wider occurrence, to be understood according to the traditional teaching of the so-called “law of cycles”.

And here falls the saying, even just in passing, that nothing will be understood of the true Nordic traditions, of their superior primordial heroic and Olympic content, that in the end is common to us, that all the art of Wagner represents the worse falsification and humanistic parody of it, up to a point, to be asked, if that happened only by accident. And the same must be thought of “romanticism”, of all that is wooly, “Niebelungic”, badly infinite, testifying to the surpassing of sentimentality of confused impulses over every higher faculty that many Germanic circles came to attribute to their own tradition, showing thus their sensitivity only for its crepuscular aspects, the relative aspects, precisely in the period of the “obscuring of the divine”, thus of every sinister confusion. And it is so that anyone, who only are considered “germanist”, as, for example, Guido Manacorda, were led to invent the myth of “forest and temple”, [Selva e del Tempio] (http://www.mirorenzaglia.org/2009/08/romolo-la-selva-il-fuoco-lascia-il-lupo/ ) and to suppose a unilateral and fatal antithesis in every Aryan consciousness between the Germanic ideal and the true Roman ideal that, otherwise, that such and author understands as little as much as the German circles understand theirs.

But a fatal confusion also to be denounced, because it can be regarded more directly, is that of a “paganism” that exalts in the forms of Humanism and of the Renaissance, again, on the basis of banal themes of immanentism, the “affirmation of life”, the “rediscovery of the sacred in the body and in beauty”, the surpassing of “theological despotism”, and other such commonplaces not even worth of a Masonic lodge. Elsewhere, in Revolt against the modern world, we made precise what one must think about it from the perspective of Tradition. This “humanistic” view is only a deconsecrated paganism, resuming the most exterior and inferior aspects of the ancient world. While he thinks he is complete, the humanistic type is that of a mutilated humanity, of a humanity that, as Guenon expressed so well, is diverted from heaven with the excuse of conquering the earth. It is the immediate antecedent, in the direction of process of decline, of the individualistic type, in which the destruction already present, but in less visible form, had in the first place to certainly become evident. The universalistic and humanistic leveling, a standardized and faceless civilization, the prostration of the internal race and the blunting of family and national traditions, a deconsecrated conception of the world, a judaization to the end of culture, and so on, are the themes of the fatal epilog of the development started with the bright fires of the artifice of Humanism and the Renaissance. It is worth saying that, according to such dilettantish interpretations of history, it would have been a sort of recovering “paganism and of the triumph of life. And we could continue at length along this line.

Now, all that is in truth “paganism”, in the negative sense desired and supposed by ancient and modern Christian militant apologetics. It reveals, beyond a worrisome lack of preparation, a completely erroneous sense of life that, possibly, for positive action, some racialist currents could beat. Instead of transcending, of surpassing while rising, when it is like that that one fights, one actually descends and is just by luck that the adversary usually does not know how to extract from that all possible advantage.

To repeat, these considerations turned on a pure plane of principles, with the goal of preventing confusions and also to clarify, in the face of them, some values of ancient Aryan spirituality. We therefore do not believe we are showing some particular solution to them, among the new currents of renewal, that come or go in search of new forms of spirituality, nor to make precise the relationship between such forms and Christianity. We only want to emphasize that, whatever are such solutions, it should remain firm in the condition of staying at least at the same level of the tradition that the West, through a variety of circumstances, not all fortunate, had as its own: to not lose attitude, spiritually. To limit ourselves to a single aspect, the same Catholic dogmatism fulfils, essentially, a useful function as a barrier: it prevents the mysticism of imminence and analogous false encroachments from below from moving beyond a certain limit; it puts a rigid limit where it is in force, or, at least, should be in force, to a transcendent consciousness and the truly supernatural and non-human element. Now, we will be able to also advance a criticism in the way with which, in Christianity, such a knowledge and transcendence, not without relation a non-Aryan racial influences (e.g., conceiving the supernatural exclusively as revelation is a typical trait of the “desert” soul as Clauss called it), was often assumed and will be able to extend a rectification of it, taking the movements from heroic and Olympic view of a typically Aryan-Nordic type. But one cannot move on to profane criticism, one cannot challenge this or that expedient polemic and to stray into a presumed arianity of immanentism, pantheism, or the “cult of nature”, or of “Life” without ending up on an actually inferior plane and, by and large, not in the world of origins, as according to the true aspiration of the doctrine of race, but in that of the anti-tradition pure and simple. This would be in truth the only way to induce even anyone who may have nourished the best “pagan” intentions to become suddenly a practicing and hardcore Catholic.

These are considerations that probably will please few, both among pagan and Christian racialists, since we, in this regard, have followed only the cause of impartial truth, after having gathered the fruit of ours and other’s experiences. So that, in order to avoid misunderstanding in spite of how much we have already explicitly declared, let us repeat again: we have not wanted to assert that racialism, and especially Italian racialism, must begin with revisions of the mentioned type; we have instead emphasized that it will be difficult for racialism at the moment to develop all its potentiality as a spiritually revolutionary idea, nor to the point to also posit the problem of the vision of the world. And when that is verified, it is necessary to stay attentive in order to not fall into the misunderstandings and the errors that we here have mentioned, which, basically, would only serve to play the game of common adversaries. In such an eventuality, it is necessary to be capable of putting oneself on a plane, in which doctrinal confusion is not admitted, in which every dilettantism and every arbitrary intellectual practice is to be excluded, in which every submersion into confused, passional impulses and to polemic animosity is energetically combatted, in which, finally and above all, only the strict, precise, and objective consciousness of the spirit of the primordial traditions must be decisive." - Julius Evola

Megatherions

"The right of the foolish to be guided and governed by the wise, is the first right of man, beside which all the others pale in comparison..."

Thomas Carlyle, The Present Time

Who gets to decide who is wise? It is a foolish question. It is pellucid, to any with understanding, who is wiser - he who knows what to do in an emergency IS the government. Khuenhelt-Ledhin used to tell the story about a sinking ship, in which a stampede to the lifeboats is stopped by a passenger with a gun; this passenger demands that the men do their duty, that women and children be allowed first, and then that an orderly evacuation follow. It cannot be said that this is democratic; nor can it be said to be peaceful or "normative"; nor can it be said that it is voluntary. And yet it is, in a sense, voluntary. The man with the gun might have happened to be a violent, selfish criminal. Indeed, in such situations, this may be the first element to show its head. Much as in the story of Wyatt Earp, the West faces an increasing lawlessness in which it is unclear what "law and order" any longer mean. In these situations, even the most peaceful, milk-drinking, kindliest old gentleman may well pull forth an old rusty Birmingham horse pistol, and hoarsely demand of the rising element of chaos or criminals that they "be so good as to retire, & that with promptitude". This is not democracy, but it is good government. Those who resist the anarchists, the opportunists, and the tyrants - look to these. It matters not what form of government they impose; it will be doubly, triply just - just because they oppose the wrong; just because they are good men; just because they are brave. They may well be said to be Jefferson's natural aristoi, of whom Romans 13 was written in truth, or Calvin's "lesser magistrates" - men who do not fear death enough to bow before its Incarnation. Pray for these men, and support them. Let the devil back his gift to us of the magical power of 51%.

America is Dying - Slowly

2. What are your views on America today?

America is a sick society. It is an oligarchy. The state and her "culture" is the property of private interests, and therefore, so is her foreign policy. She is attempting to lead the development of an a-cultural world order dominated by finance and commodity capital, and, therefore, all nationalists and separatists within her borders are mercilessly hounded and regularly assaulted. The extreme left and their neo-conservative hangers-on are funded exclusively by corporate capital, and the public records of their political largesse are available at the Capital Research Center. However, the good news is that the oligarchy is currently losing a war in Iraq, is drowning in unrepayable debt, and is addicted to China’s commodity capital, providing the latter with a substantial lever of power against her imperialist tendencies. Therefore, there is no feasible way for America to recover outside of the slow dismantling of the federal system, and a return to regional and state sovereignty. America’s fall from global power means that the world will be remade into a series of regional power centers, each developing the specific potential of her region.

NeoPlatonism & Other Subjects

Interesting take on Augustine and the modern world.
1. Mundane reality of cause & effect, power, etc. is inherently oppressive
2. To live only in terms of this world is to prostitute yourself to domination
3. It is to cut one's self off from living Truth totally, and submerse one's self into military, economic, and political power, not to mention (ultimately) Occult power
4. Virtue exists within this system (bravery in Special Force solders is very real) but it is co-opted and will ultimately be "owned" by dominating powers.
5. To opt out of this ultimately frustrating situation which is ultimately the necessary condition of fallen man involves one in an effort of will.
6. The understanding follows the will.
7. Liberation occurs through ascesis (which begins with monastic rule & Church life).
8. This rule slowly but surely brings about greater experiences of God's grace, which creates harmony and peace, within and without.
9. This habit of Charity views Logos in people, refuses to use them, and reinforces a habit of virtue which aspires to and ascends a path of knowledge to God.
10. So, politics and private property are a result of the Fall
11. Society would have existed had the Fall never occured
12. Anyone who wishes to rule in the Church will have had to master the unique temptations of being human, and to do less of a "rule" and to be more of an "icon"
13. Human government can be changed and transformed, but will never be free of this problem in the same way that the Church ought to be (at least).

Marsilio on the Celestials & Super-Celestials

Ficino's observations on those who practice the art of astrology, & how he would renovate it.

The Light of Nature

"The Light of Nature is made man in man,
and by a man's diligent searching
man is made Light both in light and by light;
and by the benefit of that light he finds out all things,
whatsoever he seeks and desires; but one more and another less,
because all do not seek with the like study."
